I remember thinking to myself, “Wow... I know nothing about personal finance beyond I should save money.”
Back in 2018, as I neared college graduation with a promising job ahead, I realized my knowledge of personal finance was minimal.
Raised in a family where money talk was rare and having received no formal education on the subject, I felt unprepared. This realization spurred me to attend a Financial Literacy class on campus.
I quickly became obsessed with the information I was learning, because I realized this knowledge held power in how I was going to make decisions with my money and with my life.
I started to put into practice what I was learning, with where I was at.
I began talking to my friends and e-mailing my mom & sisters "did you know...." followed by whatever new personal finance tidbit I had just learned about.
After graduation, I was excited that I was able to hit the ground running with my first big paycheck, thanks to the self-education I had accumulated. I made the decision to move back in with my parents (Thanks, Mom & Dad), and set the audacious goal to pay off all $20k of my student loans in 1 year... I accomplished it in 10 months.
During that time I also built up my emergency savings, was investing in my 401k and I was still spending money on the things I loved, like traveling.
I realized the principles I was learning were working when I put them into action.. and I was still really passionate about talking to others about what I was learning, because this is the kind of education WE ALL NEED!

In 2019, After becoming debt free I decided to start a blog, and I named it Little Miss Finance because I wanted to talk about money in a way that was young, fun and female. I wanted to be the opposite of what you initially think of in the financial industry.
Thanks to the financial foundations I'd laid for myself - like paying off all my debt and having a good chunk of money already invested for retirement, I felt comfortable leaving my stable 9-5 job in 2022. The leap was still scary, involving a big pay-cut, but I was so excited to focus my time and energy building a business around work that I loved.
2 years later, I've spoke in front of thousands of individuals, teaching them the foundations of personal finance and how to get started investing. I've also coached 100+ 1:1 clients to build a personal financial plan to guide them in their journey towards the life they desire!
